About
I strongly believe in teaching the very best technique as it is impossible to play well without this solid foundation. I aim to inspire students to develop sensitivity and musicianship and encourage learning to play from memory as well as learning to read music.
I’m committed to making sure students enjoy their lessons, make quick progress and come away feeling encouraged and inspired.
I organise regular concerts throughout the year for all my students who wish to perform on a grand piano in a beautiful venue. See concert videos
I hold a 100% pass rate with ABRSM with the vast majority of my students achieving Merits & Distinctions. Exams aren’t necessary though, this is up to each individual student.
My musical background and taste are extremely varied having studied many genres including classical, traditional, folk, jazz, Celtic, Serbian, electronic dance music and film composition.

“I’ve always wanted to learn to play piano and on meeting Lucy at an event, I finally decided to give it a go. Lucy is a gifted musician and a fantastic teacher, her confidence in me at every stage is evident and motivating, as is her love of piano. Learning a new skill can be daunting, but Lucy makes it accessible and enjoyable.”
